1 Tribune Obituaries Kopple Hallock dies; was Hibbing clothier Kopple Hallock, 86, a former businessman and civic leader in Hibbing, died Wednesday at Fairview Southdale! Hospital in Edina. He suffered a stroke on Saturday. Hallock and his wife, Anita, moved to Edina when he retired in 1980. He was born and raised in Hibbing, where his father, Charles, started a men's clothing store, Hallock's Clothiers, at the turn of the century. He was in the first graduating class of Hibbing High School and he was looking forward to attending an allclass reunion there later this month, said his daughter, Diane Fredkove, of Edina.

He graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1931. He practiced law in Faribault, for 10 years before he was drafted into the Army during World War II. He served as a military attorney, prosecuting and defending cases, his daughter said. He was discharged in 1945 with the rank of major. While he was in the service, his father had talked to him about the possibility of coming back to work in the family business.

He decided to do that, because to go back to his law practice would mean starting over from scratch. He returned to Hibbing in 1946 and joined his father and his brother, Lester, the business. Her ran the store 'and a shop next door called Contemporary Clothing until 1980. "The motto of the store was 'the friendliest store on the Iron Joan M. Cole, art studio owner Joan M.

Cole, 60, who owned an art studio in Ham Lake, died of cancer Monday at her home in Ham Lake. She was born in St. Paul and earned a bachelor's degree from Hamline University there. She lived on Ham Lake Island in Ham Lake and started Island Odyssey eight years ago. She also taught oil painting.

Harry Wallerstein, 87, who originated a type of blood transfusion that saved the lives of countless newborn infants, died Saturday at United Hospital in Port Chester, N.Y. He lived in Mount Vernon. The cause was congestive heart failure, his family said. Wallerstein and a colleague, Dr. Walter Levy, performed the first exchange transfusion in 1945.

The procedure replaces the infant's blood and makes possible the survival of babies born to parents whose blood is Rh incompatible. Nguyen Minh, age 64, of Burnsville, on June 30, 1993. Two semi-trailer trucks collided and burst into flames Thursday, killing drivers from Wisconsin and Minnesota. Dead at the scene were George Hoyer, 26, of Holman, and Douglas Stark, 35, of Springfield, Minn. Both men died instantly, according to the State Patrol. The fire was caused fuel. Roger was born in Mora, MN on March 16, 1927 to Henry and Elsie Bildsten. He graduated from St.

Louis Park (MN) High School, and attended the of M. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as an Aviation Machinist Mate. He was married to Beverly Jane Hamlet in 1949 at the Grace Presbyterian Church in Mpis and they had 6 children together. Mr.

Bildsten was the youngest man to become a member of the Zuhrah Shrine Temple in Mpis. The Bildstens owned the Ford Dealership in Cannon Falls, MN. Upon moving to Baraboo, Mr. Bildsten purchased the Ford business and later owned Circus Towne Chrysler in Baraboo. In 1963, Roger was the club champion at the Baraboo Country Club.

Born February 1, 1914, in Minneapolis where she grew up and attended school. She married Richard H. Barry on July 15, 1933 and moved to Fargo in 1940. Louise owned her own shop "Rememberance" in Fargo for approximately 15 years. She spent her winter months in Naples, Florida and the summer months at Pelican Lake in Minnesota.
