In case you haven't noticed, the all-new Porsche GT3 RS was unveiled yesterday. We took some time out from reading the specification sheet and worshiping our poster of Andreas Preuninger to look at the online configurator, which went live early this morning while everyone was sleeping.

You can spend hours playing around here, not just because of how cool the GT3 RS is, but because Porsche lets you spec up to 114 Paint To Sample colors, which we've gathered all in one mega gallery for you here. So, that aside, we toyed around with what else is on offer... although we couldn't help ourselves and had to spec our dream GT3 RS in Viola Purple Metallic with Gold GT3 RS Forged Lightweight Magnesium wheels and the Weissach Package. It's the perfect color combination, and that's a hill we're willing to die on.

But let's get back to the rest of the options available, and in particular, the Weissach Package, which transforms the GT3 RS into an absolute menace.

Starting from scratch, there are four standard colors to choose from, all available at no extra cost.

If we steer clear of the many optional extras and stick to the base MSRP of $225,250, the GT3 RS remains quite handsome. Even in the base White, there are more than enough carbon fiber exterior bits to provide a stunning contrast.

Black is not a good color for the car. You lose all of the contrast unless you add a set of Gold alloys for $3,080. Guards Red is stunning if you want to stick with the most iconic sports car color of all time. Racing Yellow is the most stunning no-cost option. The GT3 RS is a wild car that needs to be a vivid color. If flamboyance is not your thing, might we recommend the standard GT3 Touring?

The Special colors all cost $4,220, which is nothing considering the base price.

The five available options include Ice Grey Metallic, Python Green, GT Silver Metallic, Arctic Grey, and Shark Blue. Even on these web images, you can see an additional layer of depth to these colors.

Browse through the images below to see the difference $4,220 will get you before we move on to the stunning Weissach Package.

For now, I think we can all agree that the GT3 RS looks at its absolute best in a bold color.

One of the most significant talking points is the Weissach Package mentioned earlier. This famous package is named after the Weissach Development Center, where several iconic Porsche racing machines were developed.

The Weissach Package costs $33,520, but we can't imagine a GT3 RS customer not going for it. It includes several high gloss carbon fiber replacement parts, including the hood, roof, upper exterior mirrors, the upper moving portion of the rear wing, and window triangle trims. The gold 20/21-inch GT3 RS Forged Lightweight Magnesium Wheels also come standard.

To keep things simple, we applied the Weissach Package to the most vibrant colors available, but sedate white shows off the contrast best.

On the inside, it adds door grab handles in matte carbon fiber, PDK shift paddles finished in magnesium with rear milling and magnetic technology (so you get the most satisfying click as you shift up and down the 'box), the upper part of the gearshift panel covered in Black Race-Tex, and the Weissach logo on the passenger side dashboard trim and embroidered into the seat headrests.

If you select the Weissach Package, it automatically upgrades to the more upscale Leather/Race-Tex interior with full bucket seats, available in either Black with GT Silver stitching or Black with Guards Red stitching. This adds $4,730 over and above the price of the package.

But the one thing it won't add - at least in the USA - is the carbon fiber roll cage, which - criminally so - is not legal stateside. Not only does it look mega, but it's massively functional, and it seems a travesty that we can't get the GT3 RS with this bit of functional carbon jewelry.

Now that the colors, interiors, and the Weissach Package are covered, it's time for the ultimate online configurator game.

How high can we push the price without going overboard?

We obviously start with a special color, in this case, Python Green. The Weissach Package adds the Leather/Race-Tex interior, full bucket seats, and the gold 20/21-inch GT3 RS Forged Lightweight Magnesium Wheels.

To get the most expensive model possible, we went for the 3D-printed body for the full-bucket driver's seat, available in soft, medium, or hard. It adds $3,380 to the price. We'd also add our racing number for $1,180.

You need the font axle lift system ($3,670) and ceramic composite brakes with yellow calipers. This adds $9,210 to the price. Add a dashcam to film your track exploits ($130), plus LED-Matrix Design Headlights tinted black with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus. In case you want to race at night.

The $1,600 Bose surround-sound system is a must for entertainment on the way to the track. Since it's a track toy, you need a car cover for the days it will be parked. That's an extra $641.

The total for our car is $287,230, which includes $61,980 in extras. And that's just the tip of the iceberg with the logical extras. Once can easily waste time speccing exterior-color-matched leather on the air vents and every conceivable interior surface, which could easily push the price to more than $300,000.

But that's a challenge for you, our readers. How expensive can you spec a GT3 RS? Let us know in the comments below.
