This recipe for low carb taco seasoning makes enough to seasoning one pound of ground beef or chicken. Depending on your flavor preference, you may want to add less. You can always store any leftover seasoning in an airtight container.

    How to use taco seasoning?

Keto Taco Seasoning Recipe - Make a bunch and never look back! - Ketofocus (18)

I mostly use this seasoning when I am making taco meat for:

    • Taco salad
    • Beef tacos
    • Chicken tacos
    • Keto nachos
    • Chili

Brown one pound of ground beef (or whatever meat your desire) in a skillet over medium high heat.

Then sprinkle in the taco seasoning. Stir together for a minute to let the heat develop the flavor of the spices. Add ¼ cup of water, turn the heat to low, cover and simmer for at least 5 minutes.

The longer the meat simmers in the seasoning, the better it will taste. Add more water if the mixture gets too dry.

You can also add this taco seasoning to flank steak or chicken to make fajitas for a perfect keto meal. It also makes a wonderful seasoning for shrimp too!

How to store keto taco seasoning?

    Keto Taco Seasoning: FAQS

What kind of ground meat can I use with this taco seasoning recipe?

Really - I would think any type of ground meat would work. I would also include diced and shredded meat as well. This mean ground beef, shredded beef, chicken (ground, diced, shredded), and even shredded pork.

How many carbs are in this taco spice mix?

This is a low carb taco seasoning with only 1.2g of net carbs or 2.2g of total carbs. I should explain how this works. This recipe calls to use 1 pound of meat and there are 4 services. So it is based on a 1/4 pound of taco meat. Not everyone will 1/4 pound so the net carbs would be even less!

Can I use this taco seasoning for fish tacos?

I think so, at minimum it is worth a shot. The fish tacos I have add did not have taco seasoning, but that is not a good barometer. I would experiment with lightly sprinkling the fish with this seasoning and see how it turns out.
