The Porsche 911 GT3 Touring is one of the very best sports cars on the market but it’s hardly cheap with a starting price of just over $160,000 in the United States. However, this particular 2023 911 GT3 Touring up for sale through Lamborghini Houston costs significantly more.
This 911 GT3 Touring is offered with 250 miles (402 km) under its belt and has an eye-watering asking price of $309,998. The dealership hasn’t said how much the original owner spent on the car and while we have no doubt it costs way over $200,000 given all the options, not counting in any potential markups.
Immediately making the car stand out is the eye-catching shade of pink officially known as Ruby Star Neo. The 911 GT3 Touring is also rocking high gloss black brake calipers, a front axle lift system, the available Chrono package, an extended range 23.7-gallon fuel tank, LED headlights in black, auto-dimming mirrors, rear Park Assist, a white tachometer, white Chrono stopwatch, satin black wheels, and a Bose surround sound system.
Ruby Star Neo is a Paint-to-Sample option on the 911 GT3 Touring thought to cost almost $13,000 and while it has long been offered exclusively through the PTS program, Porsche did add it to its standard palette of colors late last year.
Of course, it is not the color that makes this 911 GT3 Touring hugely desirable but the fact it is fitted with one of Porsche’s fabled 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated six-cylinder engines. This powertrain is good for 502 hp and 346 lb-ft (469 Nm) of torque and is coupled as standard to a six-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels.
The Porsche 911 GT3 Touring is one of the very best sports cars on the market but it's hardly cheap with a starting price of just over $160,000 in the United States.
Contrast those numbers with 992.1-generation GT3s we've weighed: one manual at 3,188 pounds, one PDK at 3,211, and one manual Touring model at 3,251. Price is a big final difference between the two race cars: The Cup car will set you back $287,500, whereas the GT3 R is literally double that at $575,000.
It's not intended for everyday use, it's intended for B road blasts and track days, but you could of course use one every day. I used an Elise as my only car every day for 4 happy years and loved every mile, and a GT3 is more practical than that and with lower NVH.
The whole point of the Touring nomenclature should really imply that it gets the GT3 powertrain, but with a setup that's more oriented towards street driving and road trips. But it's actually just a GT3 without a wing. Everything else is the same. Hence “GT3 with Touring Package.”
The Porsche 911 GT3 is one of the most amazing cars to ever be built and the best thing of all is that they are rare due to low production build numbers.
Its 4.0-litre, high-revving, naturally aspirated 525PS engine can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 3.2 seconds. A sportscar that Porsche test driver Jörg Bergmeister calls “the best-handling 911 road car ever on a racetrack” – although, being street-legal, the 911 GT3 RS is every bit as happy on the road.
The legendary 1970 Porsche 917K holds the public record, as the Gulf Racing livery #22 from Le Mans sold for an astronomical $14,080,000. Sporting yet another famous livery, the Rothman's 1982 Porsche 956 brought $10,120,000 for its 35-year lap record at the Nürburgring.
The Porsche 911 GT3 is a high-performance hom*ologation model of the Porsche 911 sports car. It is a line of high-performance models, which began with the 1973 911 Carrera RS.
The 911 R was produced in small numbers, but due to the touring package only being offered later in the production cycle, the 911 GT3 Touring is (it seems) the rarer car, it is believed there were just 47 UK RHD examples delivered from the total production volume of around 600 units worldwide.
With the standard 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), the 911 GT3 accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.4 seconds. Top speed? Doesn't stop until it reaches an impressive 318km/h.
The 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 with Touring Package use six individual valves instead of a central throttle valve. For optimum supply of air to each cylinder. This simultaneously improves the responsiveness, controllability and gas throughput – especially at high speeds. And, as a consequence, improves performance.
Comfort. The GT3 is all about performance and the Touring pack does little to change that. And yet, the track-stiff ride is surprisingly tolerable, even on Detroit roads.
