One prime feature of the game is Scrooge McDuck’s shop, where players can find clothing, furniture, and themed decor. The savvy Scottish billionaire will also be there to upgrade buildings like Remy’s restaurant and the homes of new residents. Of course, Scrooge doesn’t give anything away for free, so players will need gold coins to invest in the Valley of their dreams. Here are some of the best ways to get some cold hard cash.
8 Clear Away Night Thorns
At the start of Disney Dreamlight Valley, the world is under a dark spell known as the Forgetting. A symptom of the Forgetting is that the Valley is overrun with thatches of night thorns, which can be the bane of the player's existence. They are also a potential cash cow. For every bundle of night thorns the player whisks away, they have the potential to earn a coin worth up to 10 gold. It may not seem like much, but with the thorns cropping up continuously, that money adds up.
Also once a day, one of the thorn bushes will randomly spit out a bundle of sparkling coins. The music will then change, indicating a timer to collect all the coins before time runs out. If the player collects all the coins in time, they’ll be rewarded with a golden chest. While the prize changes at random, it could potentially be filled with around 250 coins.
7 Sell Shiny Gems
Just like in the real world, gems in Disney Dreamlight Valley are very valuable. Unlike in the real world, they are super easy to find. Each area in the game has rocks to mine from, with specific gems found in certain areas. Bringing along a friend who has a mining specialty can also help, as they can mine extra gems while “hanging out” with the player.
Shiny gems are rarer and thus will earn more coins when players sell them at Goofy’s stall. The best gems in the game are Shiny Diamonds, naturally, and can be found in the Forgotten Lands. Each Shiny Diamond is worth a whopping 2.4 thousand coins. The next most valuable is the Shiny Amethyst (worth 2K), found in Forgotten Lands and Frosted Heights. Shiny Rubies and Shiny Sapphires are worth 1.4K and are in the Vitalys Mines.
6 Sell Rare Fish
Like so many popular cozy games, fishing is a staple of Disney Dreamlight Valley. Of course, the rarer the fish, the more money Goofy will pay for it at his stall. Players can find rare fish around the valley by aiming for the gold-colored ripples in the water or by fishing at certain times of day.

The rarest fish in the game is the Here and There Fish, which is introduced in Nala’s questline, “Fishy Business.” This beautiful specimen is worth 2K gold coins and can be found anywhere in the Valley in the early morning or at night. Next is the Anglerfish, worth 1.5K (found in the Forgotten Lands), then White Sturgeon for 1.2K (Frosted Heights), and Walleye for 1.1K (Sunlit Plateau)
5 Moana's Fishing Boat
Players who have earned the Level 2 friendship with Moana have the opportunity to unlock her questline, “Fixing the Boat.” After gathering the materials needed to complete the quest, the player can start raking in the benefits. Moana will go out and catch fish, then bring them back for the player.
It’s also worthwhile to upgrade Moana’s boat as much as possible. It can definitely be expensive, but it’s totally worth it. Once the boat is fully upgraded, Moana will bring back a total of 20 fish, and a good chunk of them are rare finds. Players can choose the ones they want to keep for recipes and sell the rarer ones for big bucks.
4 Make And Sell Meals
The best chefs know that the key to cooking is combining the right ingredients. With Remy’s help in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players can earn serious coin making and selling top-tier meals. Five-star meals are the best bet, and the more variety of ingredients, the better.

The recipes in Dreamlight Valley are placed into three categories: appetizer, entree, and dessert. Potato leek soup is the best appetizer and is worth 1.4K coins. The best entree is Lobster Roll, which can be sold for 1.9K. Finally, for dessert, Aurora’s Cake is worth 786 gold coins. Making and selling these delectable delicacies is not only fun but is a great way to earn extra moolah.
3 Wall-E's Garden
Similar to Moana’s Fishing Boat quest, players can help out their favorite trash-collecting robot in making the perfect vegetable garden. Wall-E’s level 2 friendship quest, “Village Project: The Garden,” will unlock a treasure trove of crops to sell; and players don’t even have to lift a finger! Well, after they collect all the materials and craft all the needed tools, that is.
Once the quest is completed, Wall-E’s garden will have a plethora of veggies to harvest. Of course, it’s important to upgrade the garden as much as possible. The bigger the garden, the more crops will grow, and the more crops that grow, the more money players get for selling them. With a little time and investment, it’s easy money.
2 Grow And Sell Crops
Why should Wall-E get to have all the gardening fun? It’s the player’s Valley, after all, darn it! For those who enjoy digging in the dirt and seeing the fruits (and veggies) of their labor, growing and harvesting crops is a great way to earn cash in the game.
Yes, players will have to purchase seeds from Goofy’s stall to get started, but the profit is worth it in the long run, especially knowing the best seeds to buy. Pumpkins sell for 664 gold each, which is over twice the price of the seed itself. Leeks are also worth planting, as it’s only 120 per seed, and each leek harvested sells for 309 coins. Goofy sells both pumpkin and leek seeds at his stall in the Forgotten Lands.
1 Craft And Sell Miracle Potions
Crafting is an essential skill in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Not only is it important for completing questlines, but also helps to beautify and personalize the world’s aesthetic. Along their journey, players will receive recipes for crafting Miracle Elixirs. These potions greatly enhance tools, allowing them to mine, fish, and garden like a true pro.
While the Miracle Potions are incredibly useful for collecting various treasures, they also have great monetary value. Miracle Pickaxe Polish, Miracle Growth Elixir, Miracle Fishing Bait, and Miracle Shovel Varnish can all be sold for extra dough. Potions with the “Even More Miraculous” moniker are especially valuable. For example, crafting the Even More Miraculous Pickaxe Polish and selling it at Goofy’s stall will yield a very lucrative amount of 5700 coins.
