These Companies Want You To Work From Home Full Time. And The Benefits Are Amazing. (2024)

Full time work from home jobs as an employee are just like traditional office jobs. However, you get to telecommute!

In itself, no commute is an amazing benefit. After all, the average commute is at an all time high of nearly 28 minutes each way according to Census.gov.

After a decade of remote work, I can’t even imagine an hour driving to and from work day after day.

In addition to no commute, you are eligible for employee benefits too.

Remember, you are only eligible for benefits as an employee.

Freelancers and contractors do not receive benefits.

In fact, you can learn all about the differences between employee and freelance jobs. When you’re ready, head back over here. Today, you can check out a list of real companies you can build a career with. (The benefits aren’t too shabby either).

The best part? You don’t have to set foot into an office!

What Are Full Time Work from Home Jobs Anyway?

In this case, we are talking about employee positions at remote companies. You already know what an employee job is if you’ve ever worked a traditional office job.

As a remote employee you:

  • Work a set schedule
  • Are benefits eligible
  • Have taxes taken from your pay
  • Receive regular paychecks
  • Clock in and clock out as required

For the most part, employee positions are not flexible. You cannot come and go as you please. Instead, you ask permission for time off and are expected to work specific hours. In return, you receive steady paychecks and a predictable schedule.

Simple enough, right?

When You Should Not Seek Employee Jobs from Home

Let’s face it, remote employee positions are not for everyone. That’s okay. Fortunately, there are other remote work options out there. But, how do you decide if you should work from home as an employee? Ask yourself these questions:

  • Do I have a quiet home office?
  • Am I able to work a full time schedule without interruptions?
  • Can I commit to 40 hours a week?

If you answered “no,” to any question, reconsider your work from home type.

Remember, you cannot get up and leave any time you want. Similarly, you can’t have kids in your care during work hours. It’s also not a good idea to run errands, complete chores, or binge watch The Witcher (no matter how handsome Henry Cavill is).

Think about it, you would not walk out of an in-person office job to run errands or bring your children to the office. Chances are, you wouldn’t endlessly scroll social media or login to Netflix either. Well, you might. But, you would likely get fired if you did!

If you can’t or wouldn’t do it in a traditional office, you can’t do it with full time work from home jobs either.

Today, there are literally thousands of companies that hire remotely. Seriously, I could write a seemingly never-ending list. However, not all companies hire full time remote employees AND provide outstanding benefits.
