The company is the nation's third 1rcest maker of corn products. It will ue part of the money to repay a $1,500,000 bank loan recently srantpd by J. P.

Morgan and Company. Texas Power and Light Com pany, Dallas subsidiary of Texas Utilities Company, was given per mission to sell $9,000,000 of bonds to finance 1948-49 construction. General Public Utilities Corporation, New York Holding Company asked permission to borrow $8,000,000 from four commercial banks. The company will get the money en 2 tii per cent two-year notes. To Increase Investments The funds will be used to increase the company's investments -in subsidiaries or to repay its treasury for similar increases made fince January 2, 1948.
