Pleasantly surprised by this! As mentioned, It is salty. Between the soy and dijon and the added on the steak, it can get salty. We used low sodium too. Paired it with roasted potatoes, red bell pepper and onion and a Caesar salad. (another salt bomb) Had sour cream on the roasted veggies and it was awesome mixed with the sauce (we doubled the sauce). Licked our plates. Will not add the salt to the steak next time. Yes! There will be a next time. And soon. try it.

We seldom eat flank steak as it can be tough, but this recipe, along with an overnight marinade, kept that from happening. I marinated the flank steak in red wine and soy sauce (using a marinade from this site) overnight, dried it thoroughly so that it would sear properly, and grilled it 5 minutes a side in a heated grill pan. It was perfectly pink in the middle, cut easily and was tender and tasty. The soy/mustard sauce was delicious (I doubled the recipe) and easy to make in advance, adding the cream at the last minute. The whole family raved. I'm sure leftovers (my flank steak was 1.6 lbs- there is no such thing as a 1-lb flank steak) would have been great, but there weren't any! Highly recommended.

Absolutely wonderful and easy! Pay attention to the reviews that stress using low-sodium soy sauce. I love salty things but this was too salty, even for me, with full salt soy sauce. Not too mustardy as I was afraid it would be. I would not recommend "garlicky asparagus" and "garlic mashed potatoes." Enough is enough. I served it with broccoli with toasted pine nuts with red pepper flakes and lemon, and corn on the cob.

Really good - love the sauce. I made it with couscous on the side. Next time, mashed potatoes and double the sauce!

I give it 6 stars. One of the best flank steak recipes I've made from cl. It's all in the sauce. My 2 year old was sopping it up with her finger it was that good.

Fabulous sauce and definitely make a double recipe, it was so good I couldn't stop tasting it before serving so left myself a little short for any leftover steak! I have read reviews where some have substituted the cream with half and half or regular milk but I hardly think a tablespoon and a half of whipping cream is such a huge amount that I would ruin the richness of this sauce by that change. You don't need to use much of it on the steak anyway to get the full flavor. I make a lot of flank steak recipes and I think this is one of the best!

Even my usually-picky, don't-make-me-eat-sauces-or-condiments husband LOVED this sauce. Surprisingly easy and ridiculously yummy!

This is a great change from the same old every night. I added 1 tbsp of wasabi paste to the sauce to give it a little extra kick and flavor. Delicious!

I make this sauce (double recipe) almost every time we have steak. To avoid over-saltiness, I do NOT salt the steak before cooking. Also, using low-sodium soy sauce is key. Perfect every time!

My husband grilled the steak on the grill. I used regular soy sauce and half and half, which made the sauce overly salty and not as rich. Next time I'd make it with the lower-sodium soy sauce and heavy whipping cream.

The sauce is amazing. The second time I made this I doubled the sauce because my husband loved it so much! We also made the flank steak on the grill.

This was delicious. Did the meat on the grill. Hot 500 degree over direct heat. 3 - 4 min per side worked for med-rare. Sauce was simple. Didn't have anything but regular soy sauce so used that. This made the sauce super salty. Once it was on meat it was very good but I would use low sodium soy sauce for sure next time. Portion size seems to be the way this recipe hits "light" status as 3 oz of meat seems on the small size especially for my carnivor husband. Used a 12 oz flank steak and divided meat and sauce between two. This could have served 3 but barely.

The sauce was a little salty, but works perfect with the garlic mashed potatoes they suggest as a side. I replaced the whipping cream with regular 1% milk and didn't miss the extra fat at all.

The sauce was amazing. I would definitely double it next time! The only change I made was to replace the heavy whipping cream with 1/2&1/2. Grilled the flank steak on the barbecue rather than the stove. Will be making this one again.

this recipe is wonderful! It pleased not only my teenagers, my eleven year old son, and my husband. Which is nearly impossible. Just absolutely a cinch to make and just delicious. I grilled it and served with mashed potatoes and balsamic roasted vegetables.
