The sponsor of abill that aimsto give New York municipalities authority to shutter illicit cannabis operators said the proposal has gained momentum as lawmakers continue to negotiate a final state budget.

State Assemblymember Jenifer Rajkumar, D-Queens,told reporters in Albany on Tuesday that she expects herSMOKEOUT Act bill to be included in the budget.
