Ex-World's Strongest Man ate 20,000 calories in 24 hours with vile consequences (2024)

Former World's Strongest Man Eddie Hall would eat 20,000 calories in a day again despite the vile side effects of the food intake.

During his time competing, Hall would eat 15,000 calories worth of food each day but was forced to add an extra 5,000 calories to his usual diet to complete the challenge. He revealed that he did so by eating a litre of ice cream through out the day, which he used as a cheat day during his usual bulk up period.

Hall's 20,000 calorie haul also saw him eat more than the recommended weekly consumption in a single day, with it said men should consume 2,500 calories a day.

Opening up on his diet, he told YouTuber Rob Moore: "There were days when it was a Sunday and you'd have a day of recovery and pile on the calories to help that recovery process - to help you train harder for the week coming.

"When I was in a big bulking season, I'd have litre of ice-cream after every single meal - and they were big meals. I'd have a full English breakfast, a litre of ice-cream; snacks in between; lunch would be half a kilo of steak, rice, pasta, vegetables... a litre of ice-cream.

"Then snacks up until dinner time, then a massive chicken curry, Bolognese with a kilo of pasta - and then a litre of ice-cream. It was just a way of piling the calories on - not the healthiest."

On his additional ice cream intake to reach 20,000 calories, he added: "By the end of the day, this litre of double cream had gone and f*** me - it was the worst day of my f****** life.

"I spent the whole night s****ing myself, throwing up, s****ing through the eye of a needle. Never again - I learnt my lesson. The human body can only take so much. I felt my limit that day."

Despite the gruesome side effects the day caused him, Hall did admit that an offer of £100,000 would entice him into attempting to repeat the feat as "everyone's got their price".

Hall won the World's Strongest Man in 2017 after coming third a year earlier before announcing his retirement from strongman events.

The 35-year-old had a long-running feud with fellow strongman Hafthor Bjornsson stemming from his title victory, with the pair settling their difference inside the boxing ring last March. Bjornsson claimed a unanimous decision win in Dubai.
