Healthy biscuits may seem like a contradiction but while we know that biscuits aren't exactly 'healthy' snacks, some of them are definitely better to reach for than others.
It's no secret us Brits love biscuits – nothing else tastes quite right alongside a good old cuppa. According to statistics, we get through a whopping 141 million packs of biscuits a year, even though most of us are aware that a love of sweet treats can get in the way of trying to manage your weight.
As the summer months approach and you start being more mindful about healthy eating, if you, like us, are looking for a healthy biscuit to snack on we've rounded up some of the 'healthier' options out there. Knowing which ones are better nutrition wise is useful if you're making an effort to improve what you eat.
While a lot of biscuits carry high fat content and lots of hidden sugar, thankfully it's not all doom and gloom and there are plenty of options at the 'healthier' end of the scale, which mean you can still enjoy your afternoon treat (as long as you don't demolish a whole packet in one sitting!).
Whether you're after a delicious chocolate Oreo, a good old Digestive to dunk or a consciously crafted cookie, we have an option to suit all.
These rich, double chocolate hazelnut biscuits are packed with dark chocolate chunks and coconut oil. They are vegan, dair-free and organic and because there's no milk or refined sugar there are only 162 calories per portion (four cookies.) Grab a share bag and enjoy with your family and friends, guilt-free.
You can tuck into malted milk biscuits without worrying too much as these are biscuits that have incredibly low sugar content. One biscuit is around 43 calories, making them one of the best biscuit options on the market.
