Creating flavored butters is a quick and easy way to add a burst of flavor to your food. Compound butter can be kept refrigerated for several days. They can also be frozen for several months by being wrapped in plastic wrap and stored in plastic freezer bags.

  1. 1

Put the butter into a small mixing bowl, and let it warm up to room temperature, usually about 30 minutes to an hour.

  2. 2

Once the butter is at room temperature, add your flavor-focused ingredients to the butter.

  3. 3

Mix in the ingredients by hand until thoroughly combined.

  4. 4

Place the butter mixture onto a piece of parchment paper and then fold the parchment paper over the butter.

  5. 5

Roll the paper into a cylinder and twist the ends shut. Then refrigerate the butter mixture until firm.
